engine stalling... 200 1992

Question --

When I start the engine up it recently stalls..and the battery light occassionally flashes. I checked the spark plugs and cleaned them up a bit. They need to be replaced and I will do that this weekend. This only happens occassionally -- is it the battery? or once I have new plugs in - will it stop?
