Oil Leak 700 1989

My 744 with 220K has developed an oil leak. I've cleaned as best I could and the fresh motor oil is to the rear of the engine where it connects to the transmission. I'm guessing it is my oil pan gasket. I tried to tighten the bolts but could only reach some of them which appears to have made the oil leak worse. (a good thing I guess) My question is how hard is it to replace that gasket? Any tricks to the task? I see nothing in the FAQ section.
