I have a 1982 volvo wagon 242 ( i think? ) DL auto. Used to start fine in winter, but summer time it would slowly rev up immediatly after start, and would eventually drop back down to a more normal idle. One summer morning..... (hehe)it died as it was reving up, havent been able to get it to start since. Im kinda amature mechanic, and learn as i go. So far.....cranks over fine, all spark plugs are working, fuel pump works (disconnected line just after filter in engine compartment and turned key on), injectors NOT working while cranking, cold start ingector DOES work, wedged a piece of card board into the air flow sensor plate and then injector DO work while cranking, still no start.
Have tried various other things, too many to remember or list if i did ;) . Replaced distributer cap and rotor (though i lined everything up correctly, I'll have to recheck that tomorrow) I'll post more if I remember (been working on it, on and off, for about a year now ;) ) TIA,
