Hey, folks. My 1992 240, "The Swedish Meatball," needs a timing belt. While that's being done, I was going to change out the water pump also, since it has about 113,000 miles since the first one was replaced (the whole car is at 190,500). I just graduated from law school and haven't been able to find a job yet--hard to believe in this wonderful, booming economy. What this means is, I have almost no money, so I was thinking about trying this job myself.
I looked in my manual and it has all sorts of cautions about doing timing belts on a B230F motor because of the interference design. I'm writing to ask if anyone has any advice on doing this job, and if I shouldn't do it myself, what is a good price for the work. I've done things on my previous cars such as struts, shocks, accessory belts, and CV joints, but never anything this advanced.
Thank you!
