Mysterious 1992 940 Stalling and Difficult Hot Restart 900 1992

Hello. Appreciate any help anyone can lend. I bought a 1992 940 with 72,000 one family owner miles, very nice condition. I have put about 1,000 miles on it and about a week ago after parking it for about 20 minutes, I had a tough time getting it started again. It would turn over and try to fire but would not catch. During the calling around on tow-ins and repair it sat for about 15 minutes at which time it started back up again perfectly. I suspected bad gas, as I had filled up somewhere other than my usual place, I knew I was on that tank of gas. A few days ago I was driving on the highway downtown in fairly heavy traffic while raining. Suddenly I have no power and the lights are all on on the lower dash. Since I am rolling, thank god it was a downward incline, I put it in Neutral and crank the engine. No luck but same symptoms as above. I try another time or two as I roll along, suddenly it catches and roars back to life. No problems since. Do you guys think this is bad gas? Between the first and second occurrence, I filled it again to overwhelm the old gas, and added a few glugs of Redline SI-1 Fuel treatment, an additive I have used on Porsche and VW cars to good effects in keeping intake components clean. Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot. Doug
