I'm concerned about my boost level on my 940T. I just got the car so have no point of reference. Currently maximum boost registers about just past 1 o'clock on the instument cluster Turbo guage. So I am getting boost, but how much?!

I know it's not calibrated but how far up does this guage normally show on full boost on other 900 turbos? I don't really want to spend money on another boost guage when it's only for such a basic ballpark reading!

Most other turbo'd cars I've had I could hear the turbo whine as it spun up, I can't hear this on my car at all really... is this normal or is it related to the symptom above?

I've checked all the hoses, and the intercooler these are all fine, the only thing I was guessing about is a vacuum type capsule (not the wastegate actuator) on the top of the turbo on the air intake/output side which is controlled by a feed from the manifold. it seems to be a bypass for the turbo to aid spin up... is this right?
