Questions on an aftermarket stereo for my '87 760 GLE 700 1987

I've been poking around the Internet for a while now trying to get some hard information on the wiring for this thing, but I still only have half of it. I've found out which wires are for each speaker, which is the power, which is the memory, and which is the antenna, but the rest is still a mystery. The only actual diagram I found online bears almost no resemblance to the wiring in my car. I can't use my old unit as a reference, either, thanks to whatever punk kids stole it. :)

Does anyone know of a real wiring diagram for an '87 760 GLE? Also, I keep reading that the factory amplifier needs to be taken out... Why? If my unit has pre-amp output, can't I use it?

Thanks in advance, and I hope I haven't asked any stupid questions. ;)
