92 740T Wagon
I went to the desert last weekend and was unpleasantly surprised to find out that the blower stops working during acceleration, or /and when I drive above 60-65mph.
This happens independant of the air settings - external or cabin recycling air, heater off or on, air conditioning off or on, blower knob staying at the same setting, in this case positioned at 3 (5 is max).
It felt as if I was able to control the blower behavior with the acceleration pedal - depressing the pedal would disable the blower, letting go of the accelerator would enable it. So the choice was to either drive slow and be cool or drive with the trafffic (75-85mph) in 105 degree heat. (I opted for the speed).
Recently I had the blower fail (no air coming out, only sound, blower noise was adequte to the fan control dial but no air coming out even at max). I had this repaired.
My question is, is this a normal behavior for this car or should I return it to the service and ask them to fix it as a part of the warranty of the repair I already paid for (over $200 because they had to dismantle the panels in the cabin).
Thank you in advance!
