B-A-C-K S-U-P-P-O-R-T. If I had only relized how easy replacing the back support mechanism, I would have done it a lot sooner! Took maybe 30min. and 2 zip ties. The Donor 87 245 is starting to pay for it self. While I was in the"mood" for fixing things I rewired the defrost and taglights(again), and replaced the taglight housing I broke while trying to pop it out(so thats what those little slots are for, D'oh). I wrapped my tailgate latch in electricians tape(no more slamming), and put some rubber grommets under the tag mount and reinstalled it(ie. rattle -be-gone).
To finish my afternoon of lite maintiance I slapped my "extra" High Mileage badge on the back(other on the grill). This week i should have my "new" tailgate inner cover ready, I have a guy at work cutting a piece of 1/8 sheet metal to fit, which I will install with stainless steel screws i got laying around. Another day another part installed.
At least my back will feel better on drives , and my wife gets one of her throw pillows back.
