I've been storing my wifes old 81 245 in the garage for 3 years now. After replacing the wiring harness it runs again. But.... The floor and quarters are rusted through, the front bushings and struts are shot now it's developed a bad oil leak from the rear main seal. It still runs decent, but stalls sometimes when put into gear. But rust is taking over quickly. 3 years ago I replaced all 4 doors and the hatch on it with perfect ones. I even have new front fenders for it. Even the color was close. With 1/4 million miles on it the tranny slips now too. Here is my problem, what do I do?
Plan A. Either I will make this my winter beater and drive it to death next month.
Plan B. Find a good running (must be cheap) late model 240 that has some body damage or a good older banged up 240 that's got a decent floor and quarters (also needs to be cheap) and transfer my interior and body panels to it.
Plan C. Keep it for future parts for my 84 240 Wagon.
Any Ideas or leads? I saw a 90 240 on EBAY with quarter panel damage for under $300. That won't work for me, I need front end or door damage.
