SERVICE LIGHT RESET SWITCH - To gorilla or not 200 1992

I've tried a couple of time to reset the 5000 mile service light by pushing in the switch at the lower right of the instr. panel face, according to a post I saw a couple of weeks ago.

I can't get it to reset, even after pushing in with about 5 lbs force
I estimate (and the key is turned turned to the ON position). I don't want to mash it in like king kong. Am I registering too high on the worrywart scale?
Is there some other point I'm missing?
