I got my parts in today. OEM everything except the rear crank oil seal. A Scan Tech part was sent and I'm thinking of returning it for Genuine Volvo. I'm basing this on what I've read here about Scan Tech parts in general. Gaskets that fail, parts that don't fit "quite right" or are of inferior quality.
Am I over reacting? As inaccessible as this part is, I think I'd prefer Genuine Volvo.
I also got a new Sachs clutch and pressure plate. I was surprised at the clutch friction material thickness (or lack of it). These things must wear like iron as the new one measures 2-3mm from the face to the head of a rivet while the old clutch has .5mm left. At 190,000 miles I wonder if the clutch had been replaced a couple of years ago. The service history I got with the car is missing everything from 150,000 to the 183,000 I bought it with.
I know it depends on several factors but what's would the average life expectancy of a clutch be in a turbo wagon?
Thanks,
