ECT Wiring question!! 200

I have a trouble code (which I have cleared, drove, got back again) and check engine light that says
1-2-3 "Fault in signal for engine coolant temperature sensor".
I have replaced/tested my new sensor and which meets the book (ohms)requirements at hot and cold. I have also unplugged the wire harnesses from each computer and tested the proper pins 15+2 on each computer and gotten the same reading as at the sensor directly. Can anyone help me. The book code says "fault in signal". Does that mean that the computer isn't recieving the signal and if so why not since the the probes read it shoudln't the computer male pins etc. All the computer pins seem to be stable and intact so I am throughly confused as to why they aren't accepting the signal. I did contact the dealer who said a lot of people were coming in with the 123 code and they were resautering a loose Volvo connection etc. but I am not/was not sure what he was talking about. Thanks for any help anyone out there can give. Steven
