Hey everyone -
I own a 1990 240DL, has 101,000 miles on it, and I have never had any "major" problems with her thus far...
Lately, however, it has really been acting strange. After I start it in the morning, it will drive fine for around 30 seconds, after which it will start to sputter and begin to go into a stall. If I quickly floor the gas before the engine stops, it will eventually stop sputtering and return to normal, with no more problems for the rest of the day.
Initially, I thought it might be a vacuum leak/problem with the AMM, so I checked all hoses from the intake snorkel, the snorkel tube itself, and the PCV system - all with no leaks. Additionally, I checked the electrical connections on the AMM, but those also appear to be in good shape (based on a continuity test).
With the engine idling, I pulled off the electrical connector to the AMM, and immediately the engine stalled and stopped - so I was able to rule out a faulty AMM (for the time being).
If anyone out there could help to shed light on this problem, I would really appreciate it.
