Well, I'm frustrated about the power seat swap I've taken on!!

I've transplanted the driver's seat from a 92-95 900 into my '91 940.
My problem is I need to reset the power seat's various maxima and minima so the brain knows the position the seat is in...

Here's the poop:
- swap went well, had to cut the side pocket on the new seat to accommodate seat belt reel which is attached to the seat on the '91, whereas it's in the pillar in the later ones. No problem, done.
- Had to take the power seat connector from the old seat and solder it onto the newer seat. Good, no problem.
- The seat works
- But then, the inner track jammed and the seat twists!!
- I managed to gradually get it into a comfortable position for me by fiddling with the switches while convulsing wildly.

This was a few weeks ago.
- tonight I decided to pull the seat and pull everything apart.
- I read the FAQ, quite helpful
- I pulled everything apart, greased up the tracks nicely and with the gear/track assemby dismantled, slid the tracks briskly back and forth
- the one that was sticking was binding, but it looked impossible to separate the foot from the track it slides in, since it's all riveted.
- I reassembled it, unable to get the height where it was when I disassembled, and now the seat stops before it's maximum height.
- oh and the kicker, the seat jams in the same place.

I don't have the brain wired into the OBD box since it's a '91 and don't have an LED...

The mechanism in the original seat works fantastically...should I take the "clothes" of the newer seat and dress the old seat in them? Will this even work for these two different type of seats? The old seat was shot cosmetically, and the newer seat's leather is in fantastic shape. The seats (I have a pair) are taking up a lot of space in the basement and I need to get rid of one set.

What should I do?
