Went a junkyard yesterday to pickup stuff for my 1987 740 gle. Picked up a sereo from a 1989 740, same model as mine TD-6141. I expected everything to be easy except maybe for the anti-theft thing. BUT,looks like the wiring is different. I went for OEM because I didn't want to mess around with wiring. The stereo I got from the junkyard has a connector at the back. Looks like that's where a wiring harness from amp maybe would connect.
The stereo connections on my car right now look wierd to say the least. There are quite a few wires behind there. A few wires form the stereo a going staight into the dash, amp maybe.
Is there anyway I can use this stereo on my car? Do I just need to go bak to the junk yard and get stereo wires I left on the 1989? If it's going to be a lot of work, should I just bite the bullet and go for an aftermarket radio. I can also get a new TD-800 series radio for the same price. Should I go with that instead?
Any help would be appreciated.
