Hi guys,
First, a big thank you to Bob, Ron, Charles, Mark, Werner, and Jon for your efforts in helping me find a solution to my wirnig dilemma in the 544.
So, here's how it all works out:
The switch most likely IS from a 122. At some point in this car's life it was transplanted.
"W"= washer pump (+), "P"= (+)input carrying over to 53a on motor, "F"= blank (544 has one speed motor-fast), "A"= 31b AND 53. This is important as I found out quickly. To get the two speed switch to work with the one speed motor, you must piggyback the green and the blue onto terminal "A" This is so that high speed is on regardless of switch position. Anyone considering this swap, remember- ***don't connect anything to the "F" terminal.*** These motors DO NOT like the slow speed setting!! (don't ask me why I know this...:^( )
Again, thanks to everyone for your help. If anyone is going to the VCOA meet, this my car http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/robsvolvos I'd love to meet some of you guys in person!
