First off, I'd like to thank all the folks who contribute & manage this board, especially the 700/900 FAQ. It's a huge resourse for those of us trying to avoid new car notes. That said, I'd like to relate my experience with a motor mount replacement. ( all three, '90 740 turbo wagon ). I'd picked up all the mounts months ago on Ebay, mainly 'cause they seemed cheap. Finally got around to installing them today, after much procrastination; And like most things in life, making up my mind to start was alot worse then the actual work. And folks, it's like a new Automobile. I had been troubled by what I felt was a ragged, harsh idle, altho the rpm seemed ok.I went thru all the cleaning, vac hose inspecting, ect. Never occured to me that the badly collapsed mounts could be the problem. While I was under there I changed the strut rod cone bushings. Altho they had the same mileage, around 30K, one side was totally seperated, and the other merely collapsed. Took me 5.5 hrs for the whole thing. Again, my thanks to everyone.
Regards, Steve Wilson
