Hi! The old faithful 1991 240 wagon suddenly died after a smooth start and ran for 20 seconds. The engine turns over but would not start. I checked and found that there is no spark at the plugs. I replaced the distributor cap and the rotor (they are kind of old). One unusuall thing is that the "check engine" warniinng light does not turn on while all the others do when I turn the key one step.
I suspected the engine speed sensor and order a new one. The manual said that the resistence should be 240+- 25 ohms. The new and the old (still in the car sitting in place) both show about 185 ohms. I am a little reluctant to replace it.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
