1991 740 parts advice 700

I am buying a 1991 Volvo 740 sedan and am going to be upgrading a few areas of the car. The first to get upgraded are going to be the shocks/struts and brake rotors and lines. followed by the exhaust and some performance modifications such is sway bars and the like. I was looking at IPD, which is where I am planning on purchasing a number of the parts, and my questions are as follows:

1)
Which shocks/struts would you recommend, the Bilstein or the Koni, the bilstein are cheaper but will they give the same performance as the Koni? I want a sportier ride but would still like it somewhat comfortable. The koni may be to much for this application. The car will be a daily driver, that I want to handle better than stock and just handle well in general.

2)
IPD offers both front and rear sway bars as well as upper and lower chassis braces. Now what are the pros and cons to each? and what combination would best suit a car that will be used as a daily driver, but that I still want to handle well/better than stock?
