FYI 700 door rattle cure 700 1990

Recently I fitted remote central locking to my 740 which required the fitting of a lock motor in the drivers door.
Subsequently there was a metallic rattle from the door which I was sure was a lock actuating rod vibrating.
After removing and refitting the door trim several times it was finally traced to the metal cable clip shown below which was loose in the panel, I cured it by glueing it in place with a blob of RTV sealer.

Well worth checking when you have the door trim off, it might save a lot of work later.
