I currently drive a 1986 240 wagon, blue. It has about 67,000 miles on it, runs great, has had no major or even really minor problems, and has only one known spot of rust (its on the floorpan). I have the option of switching to a 1992 960 sedan, gold. It has about 126,000 miles on it, runs fine, is on its third or fourth timing belt (the dealership screwed up installing a replacement and it broke, a new one was installed for free, it was installed badly, it broke, the current one is fine), and has no known rust problems. the 960 does need some maintenance though, new brakes, new tires, new upholstry or some cheap seat covers, and a cd player.
My question is thus: Is it worth the increased safety of having anti-lock breaks and the fun of a V-6 engine to switch cars? I love my 240, I have spent a good bit of time fixing it up and cleaning it and installing its cd player, but I kinda like the 960 more. For one thing it has power everything. Plus, I enjoy the cleaning and installing and such, so that would be fun to do again.
Any thoughts about other pros and cons I have missed, or extenuating circumstances I should know about before choosing would be greatly appreciated.
