Power steering leaking like a seive 200

Hi

All of the sudden, my 91 240's power steering is belching fluid. It seems to be coming from the union at the rack and/or at the hose where there is a collar when it changes from the rubber compound to the rigid (steel/aluminum?) pipe near the rack. It was a catastrophic leak which occurred suddenly. Boots on the rack appear fine.

Anyone else had sudden loss of power steering fluid due to hose failure at or near the rack?

God help me if it's the rack.
