Dead battery jumped now DING DING DING 700

wondering if anyone can help. I just had to get the battery jumped on my car, left the lights on for a few hours. Now as soon as I insert the key in the ignition the DING DING DING goes on and does not go away even when the car is in motion. Is this some electrical problem that I can reset by pressing a button? Can I just unhook the battery and then reconnect. Please help this DINGing sound is driving me crazy.
