Inner Tie Rods 700

I have to replace at least one inner tie rod on my 1990 745T (240,000 km).Does anyone have any experience with this operation? I would like to know how long it might take and if I need any special tools (extra deep socket or crowfoot???). I plan on buying new rubber boots as well, since it is likely that the old ones might break. Thanks in advance for any comments.
