Bilstein Front Shocks - Special Tools Required ? 200 1980

Hi Guys,

Probably simple questions but just wanted to check and learn from Brickster's accumulated experience/wisdom.

Just received a set of Bilsetin HD shocks for the front of my brick. The large nut tat holds the shock in the strut tube is a slightly different design than the OE nut from Volvo. Volvo's nut has 4 slots through a flange to tighten with a Volvo special tool. The Bilsetin nut has only two slots at the top of the nut, which looks like it would use a different tool. What type of tool should be used on the Bilstein nut, or can I just use an original Volvo nut ?

Also, the top of the shock spindle has about an 8mm inset hex fitting instead of the external oval shape of standard Volvo shocks. I assume I should use an 8mm hex driver for holding the shock spindle while I tighten the top nut. Right ?

Thanks, as always.

Mike
