Volvo 940 Turbo 2 Litre ( Standard Mitsubishi Turbo) 900 1993

Does anybody know if it is possible to remove and replace the oil return pipe ( the pipe which runs from the from the underside of the turbo to the sump), without removing the turbo from the manifold/exhaust system? It has a two bolt fitting under the turbo, and the bottom end of the pipe pushes into the sump through a rubber seal. I don't want to bend it if I can help it.
The existing pipe is damaged, and if I can't fit a new pipe without dismantling the exhaust manifold system etc, I also want to know if it would be possible to cut out the damaged section of the old pipe and join the pipe with a rubber hose and two clips, or if the oil returning to the sump will be too hot to do this.
Any ideas welcome.

Thanks for any advice.
