Windshield defrost and dash replacement. 200 1988

I have a 1988 Volvo 240 DL that has a winshield defroster that is not blowing out any air from the dashboard vent when I have the button pushed for that function. I wonder if I some how disconnect something when i was inside the conslole changing control panel light bulbs. I thought I was very careful though. So what should I check. When I took the inner kick panels off to change the control panel lightbulbs, I noticed a lot of leaves in there. so is there somehthing that is clogged too? I pretty sure that the defrost used to work before I took the console appart. So what should I do?

If I have to take the dash appart like I did when I changed the bulbs out, how much more work would it be to replace my cracked up dash? I can get a good one for about $90.

Thanks
