240 brake master cylinder 200

I'm replacing the master cylander on my 87 240 dl wagon. I bought a new one from FCP Groton. In my repair manual it says I should take piston out and lubricate with brk fluid then put back in MC before installing. Just wondering if this is necessary or only when rebuilding an old one.

How much brk fluid do I need to flush out the lines?

Appreciate the advice.

John
