Hi Everyone,
My 95 945T is making a popping or clicking noise off and on when I apply the brakes. The noise is coming from the front passenger side and occurrs in forward and reverse. It’s usually a succession of 2 pops or clicks and it doesn’t seem to vary whether I’m going straight or turning. Seems to be louder and more pronounced when I’m in reverse. I was at a stoplight last night pumping the brakes to see if I could get the noise when at a stop- I would hear a very quiet click from the front passenger side, but I still can’t tell if it’s the brackes/calipers making the noise or if something clunking in the suspension as a result of hitting the brakes.
Anyone got any ideas? I was thinking ball joint, but I though that usually made noise only when turning.
I replaced the strut rod cone bushings about 4 weeks ago, rear springs & shocks 3 weeks ago, and the noise started a week ago. Car has 123,000 miles.
I appreciate any advice on things I could check on my own.
Thanks in advance.
John
