Overfilled engine oil. Have I buggered up anything? Now what? 700 1991

Yes, a careless and stupid move.

Shortly after the overfilling, I noticed the car would stutter, especially during acceleration as well as the occaisonal high idle.It otherwise runs well. No check engine light either.
QUESTION:
Aside from bleeding the excess to get the dip stick back to normal range, I'd like to know what effects this may have on anything else in the engine and what sort of damage control can be done.
