I own a 1990 740 and am closing in on 150,000 miles. In the past few weeks my car started making a thumping noise in the rear of the car when I accelerate, which I suspect is a bad torque rod bushing. The problem is, as I have investigated this noise, I have discovered there are many bushings in the front and rear suspension. I suspect my control arm bushings are probably bad also. Heck, I don't think a single suspension bushing has ever been touched on my car! How many of these bushings should I be replacing? Are some more critical than others? Thanks!
