clunking noise 1990 760t 700

Have had a clunking noise upon (DECELERATION ONLY) for a while now. The sound is coming from the rear of the car possibly from the differential area. The clunking sound increases and decreases in frequency with speed, possibly once per rotation of the driveshaft. Problem is,I can not duplicate the sound with the rear of the car off the ground and spinning the tires. The weight of the car is needed. Anybody have any ideas? TIA
