Temp Guage repair 200

I've seen the diagram that illustrates how to solder a jumper wire connecting pins 1 & 3, but would like to clarify that:

1) You leave the compensating board out after this (which is likley not possible to reinstall in any event)

2)I'm also concerned how this affects the fuel guage, if at all.


Lastly, does anyone have a diagram on how to properly wire the K10042 cluster?
