Transmission on permanenet forward 900

I had the car towed to the mechanic today. He called and said the car only goes forward...in every gear including neutral. My first thought is that this is electrical, and after looking at the FAQ, I would suspect wiring harness.

Has anyone experienced this and what would be your first suggestion...
