Front end swap from 84 to 92 200

Good morning,
My daughter rear ended a semi yesterday in her 92 244. The impact was fairly slow and she hit the big "bumper" type bar on the back of the truck. The bar was struck just above the front bumper on the Volvo and smashed the grill, headlights and turn signals. The hood also is bent at about 60 degrees in the center. She wasn't hurt, thankfully, and the motor didn't move, as far as I can see. The radiator and a/c condensor were pushed back at an angle, but are not leaking or bent up and the car ran (although the fan shroud was rubbing on the fan itself)enough to move it off the street. The front bumper did not compress and the air bag did not deploy. Second time the brick has been smashed in 10 months. I'm not a happy guy.
My question is this. Will the front panels (fenders, hood, radiator support, ect..) from an 84 wagon or sedan fit the front end of the 92? I have two 84 "parts" cars with perfect front ends that I'd like to switch if possible. Can it be done by an amateur body guy like myself. From the last wreck it appeared that the front panels pretty much bolt on. Will the bolt holes line up or am I looking at spot welding and all the other stuff best left to a pro. Cosmetics for the front end are now low on the priority list but I do want the car to be safe.
Any help from you guys and/or gals is greatly appreciated
