I need some advice on winter tires. I can expect to see some snow and ice over a few weeks this winter. All my neighbours switch to winter tires around now, but they all have small, lightweight compact cars, with front wheel drive.
I don't doubt that winter tires will be better but I need to know whether it's worth the investment. Considering the cost - four branded Winter Tires will cost me an additional $300 plus $90 a year to have them fitted/removed (have no spare rims yet), I have to ask myself if it's worth it for a few weeks.
Last year, I had to use snow chains several times to get up slippery slopes. Would winter tires still need chains?
Anyone have any experience/advice on occasional winter driving?
Regards
Neil
