I'm looking at an 1800ES for about $5000 that has 150,000 miles on it. It is a beautiful car, dark green, looks really good. I have a few general questions about 1800ES's, though, that maybe you guys could address. I am fairly mechanically adept (I installed an EFI Ford V8 into my '89 745), but I want to keep this one stock (for now). How easy is the 1800 to work on and maintain (oil changes, brakes, etc)? Are the rear brakes on a '73 discs? Are they reliable, and what should I look for that tends to go wrong? How are they to drive (handling, power, brakes, visibility)? What kind of fuel milage do you guys usually see? Finally, how is the D-jet FI system on efficiency and reliability, and how easy is it to diagnose/fix when something is wrong? Thanks a lot for the help.
Oh yeah, are the rear seats really as cramped as they look?
