Add a catalytic converter to an '84 760 Turbo Diesel? 700 1984

I just bought this car and I love it (it's my 4th Volvo). I know the '85 760 turbo diesel came with a CAT, but the '84 (mine) did not. Can I just buy a '85 CAT and install it on my '84 model? I'm running B20 biodiesel but I'd like to reduce the emissions further if possible. Thanks.
