How do you properly gap spark plugs? 200 1980

I got a new set of NGK plugs to throw into the '80 245DL. I'm not sure if they are set to the proper gap though.

Now, my problem is, I don't really have tools to gap plugs. (I've done it on a lawn mower before, but I just used a sheet of paper folded a few times and some pliers.)

I think I read that the recommended gap for my '80 is 0.028" - 0.032", although I could be mistaken. If my plugs aren't already gapped correctly, what should I do? Anyone have any tricks on how to actually get it within that range if you don't have the proper tools?

(I would do my paper trick, but I can't get it exact... printer paper is about 0.004" thick, while lined paper is about 0.003" thick.)
