Dash swap 200 1978

Hello all again
I am transplanting as many parts as I can from a 1983 245 parts car to a 1978 244. I have allready swaped both side mirrors, drivers door window regulator, rear springs and shocks, AC compressor, power stearing pump and radiator as well as new style fan. My question is this, can the dash from the 83 fit into the 78 without to much fuss? The 78 dash is not that great and I wonder if I could get a CD into the player if I mount it in the bottom slot. As allways, thanks in advance.
