help w/ AMM, & O2 on 740T 700

(Sorry if a little long, questions at end)
Background: failed smog w/ high HC and CO and it wasn't a surprise since whenever I do wide open throtle black smoke puffs out and I get surging/no relevant accel for the gas I should be duming in there.
Anyways after fixing things such as hoses and checking FPR I got the car out of "limp home mode" and decided to take it to the dealer just to have him check if my fixes could pass CA smog. NOPE. So I ponyed up some cash and had him check out the car. As I suspected the AMM is fried(he tried a new one and it improved alot of the prob) , O2 sensor voltage is wack and TB needs to be cleaned. For each of these he wants to change me 2-3 Times what the part would cost from FCP. I wish I had a BrickBoard sticker I could have stuck onto the service counter as I said thanks and grabbed my brick. :)

So I turn to the wise BB for some help:
1.) AMM's : remanufactured vs new? For such a critical thing should I pony up for the new one (online of course) or get a Python remanufactured and are the re-mans trusty?
2.) O2: If I order the "Direct Fit" Bosh will I be able to avoid having to splice due to Volvo use? Is there an O2 I can get online that will avoid slicing? There is also an O2 by Walker that says Direct Fit and is $40 less, anyone every use them?
