I was up in Gilford, NH (by the Lake) this weekend and I saw a very nice orange ES. I was not able to drive it, but I gave it a pretty good once-over up close and it looks mostly original and solid.
I spoke w/ the seller this a.m. and I confirmed that it has "no rust" and has only 53K on it. Looking under the car, the floor looked original and very solid (especially when comparied w/ mine). Unfortunately, the history I got is hearsay since the seller's father-in-law bought the car at an estate auction in Mass a year ago. Apparently, the original owner's nephew owns or runs Dalzell Volvo in Dedham and they did a bunch to the car before it was turned over to the new owner. So they may be the best source for detailed history, but the current seller did tell me that aside from needing a passenger side ball joint, the car is 100%. It's got new brakes and brakelines, new fuel lines, repaired wiper motor repaired, new steering knuckle, freshly rebuilt front seats w/ nice new-looking black leather. The seller says that they've got 14K in the car including what they paid at auction. He's asking 10,788, but would take 10K although he said that's his bottomline. It is getting on winter in NH though. Who knows his storage situation.
Anyway, if you're interested in talking w/ this guy, email me directly.
Just spreading the good 1800 word ... I have no financial interest in this deal.
