Tranny for 87 wagon 700 1985

Hi All,
Ibought an 87 wagon that someone replaced the turbo engine with an 86 non turbo. Guy tells me 1st & 2cd gears are bad in a 3 sp auto with elec OD.

Can anyone tell me what tranny I need to look for to replace the bad one?

I'm getting this car to back up / relpace a 78 245 that has a 79(AW71?)3sp auto with elec OD.

What is better, or worse about a 740 compared to the 78 245?
