I'm as tired of posting about this vibration problem, as you probably are of reading about it. So this really is my last shot. I just can't believe that I have the world's only buzzing 940. (And from archival posts, I don't. But no solutions there either.)
All the usual suspects (crank pulley, mounts, d-shaft bearing, exh. bracket etc.) have been replaced with OE. But the problem, though much subdued, still exists. Lately I'm thinking it may be from the tranny, and not the engine.
It is there all the time (even at a standstill), but increases with rpm. It is most aggravating at and thru the 2700 rpm <—> 3000 rpm shift points, when I feel it in the gas pedal and steering wheel, and can hear/sense an audible, buzzing drone from nowhere in particular.
If it's from the engine, it's new to me after nearly 40 years of red blocks. The A71 is new to me, so I don't know much there. I did check the torque converter bolts, but have no other ideas on it.
I've finally got a sweet-running/riding 940, after about $1500 and many months of DIY refurbishments, so this thing is a nagging pain (like my posts on the subject?)
