I suspecct that I have a gummed up control plunger in my fuel distributor. I'm getting a sticking high idle, poor cold start, and missing/hesitation under load.
My question is... should the control plunger rise and fall at the same rate as the air flow sensor plate and arm? If I slowly lift the sensor plate then let it down and bring it back up again I can feel it(the sensor plate arm) hit the control plunger as it(the CP) slowly falls from the initial rise. Is this normal?
I've already swapped my control pressure regulator to rule that out as the culprit of my poor running condition. Next will be the cold start injector test.
Thanks, Marty
