speedometer & tach stopped working 900 1991

Just bought a '91 940 turbo wagon. The seller said both the speedometer and tach stopped working a couple of days before I bought it. He didn't seem to know much about the technical end of things, possibly not even knowing where some fuse locations were. What should I look for to get these gauges working again?
