Help! Changed battery in my 1997 Volvo 960 and created problems! 900 1997

Nothing was wrong with the car until last night I changed the battery in my 1997 Volvo 960. Now the battery light will not go out. The SRS light blinks on and off. The brake ABS light blinks on and off. The AC will not blow when it is at an idle.

When, I go over 2,000 RPM all the lights except the battery light goes out. The AC blows right then.

I put the old battery back in the car and the problems remain. Please tell me what I am doing wrong!
