ABS Troubleshooting 700

Hi,

The ABS on my 1990 760GLE kicks in at very low speeds. My mechanic cleaned all the sensors to no avail. It was very annoying so I pulled the fuse and now I have the Antilock warning light on the dash to annoy me. How can I troubleshoot this? I'm affraid to take it to the dealership b/c they'll replace the computer and the module and all the sensors and charge me an arm and a leg. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
