Hey Guys,

I have a brief question. Some time ago a friend of mine had me look at her car, apparently she is having some breaking issues. So I sat in the car and she tried to make it happen, only it didn't. Of course as soon as she left, it happened. She describes it as, a humming noise when she hits the brakes at this point the brakes don't work as well. Her fluid level and brake pads are in good condition. The hum makes me think ABS, which is beyond my level to help with. Could it also be a master cylinder?

Also, the car makes a quick whining sound when it starts up. It sounds like the starter to me, but if anyone has any thought on that please share.
